JOB OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dedicated learning specialist to provide individualized academic support to students. You will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to develop learning strategies tailored to each student's particular needs, in order to support their academic progress.
To be successful as a learning specialist, you should have an insightful understanding of effective teaching methods for different learning styles and aptitudes. The top candidate will have excellent listening and observational skills, as well as an empathetic mindset.
The Learning Specialist will:
Help students to develop effective learning strategies that promote academic improvement.
Educate parents and teachers about learning differences.
Assess students to identify to determine support
Update parents and teachers regularly about students' progress.
Keep up to date with new developments in interventions.
Build supportive, trusting relationships with students.
Provide parents and teachers with useful resources for the benefit of students.
Communicate well (written and oral) with students, parents, colleagues and supervisors.
Effectively steward all designated school materials and equipment.
Attend required staff meetings, special events, and professional development sessions.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Active member in good standing at a Christian church.
Have a degree in special education or 5 years experience working with students with learning differences
Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience, especially in a Charlotte Mason educational setting.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a teaching license and/or certification with emphasis in special education.
Speak Spanish fluently preferred
